It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, James Lewis Coen on 2024-10-18 in Tempe, AZ. Best known as "Jimmy" to friends and family, he was born on 1953-10-25 in Mattoon, IL to a big family. He retired from Blaw Knox Construction Equipment and for all his life he loved being outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing and artifact hunting. Jim was known to never pass up collecting awesome rocks and fossils. He loved reading educational material about paleontology and Native American history. He had many well used books on these topics which he wrote many notes in. He was a very good friend who would help anyone in need and many friends are saddened by his passing.

He is survived by his loving daughter Samantha (Lucas) Rendleman and two grandchildren, Alena and Noah. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Dixon (Bill) and Annette Ruth Coen and brother Steven Daniel (Dan) Coen. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. The next time you go on a walk in nature and find a fascinating rock, we hope you think of a fond memory of Jim.
