Janice "Jan" Kessler
May 14,1948 - November 3, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janice "Jan" Kessler on November 3, 2024. Jan was born on May 14, 1948 in Teaneck, New Jersey to Charles and Edythe (nee Koch) Kessler.
Jan met her beloved husband, Gary Chaidez, 23 years ago. They met through happenstance at The Blue Note Blues Club and literally danced the night away.
Jan was known for her ready laugh, kindness, positive spirit, generosity and devotion to Family, Friends and pets. She always looked at the proverbial glass as being completely "FULL".
Jan's strong faith along with the loving support of Gary, family and innumerable friends, helped her battle through her illness.
Jan worked at Motorola in the radio products factory assembling encrypted communication equipment for the Department of Defense. She loved driving the Humvee shelter trucks to the National Guard for the JSTARS Program.
Jan and Gary shared a love of the outdoors. They enjoyed many RV'ing, motorcycling and jet-ski adventures. They would often spontaneously hop on the motorcycle to Saguaro Lake where they enjoyed the beautiful Arizona sunsets. Every year, Jan and Gary motorcycled up the California Coast, visiting friends and family on their way to Pismo Beach or Monterey and the historic Laguna Seca Raceway to watch the races.
Jan leaves behind her husband, Gary Chaidez and her brothers David (Susan), Dan (Terri), Mark (Lynda), Rick (Jean) Kessler, and sister-in-law Beverly Kessler. Jan was a devoted, loving aunt and leaves behind her nieces Courtney, Aliesche, Caitlin and Dawn and nephews Eric, Spencer, Justin, Dylan and Vince as well as her grand-niece and grand-nephews. Jan was predeceased by her parents Charles and Edythe, and brother Chuck.
Services for Jan will be held at 11am on Saturday November 16, 2024 at Velda Rose United Methodist Church (the church where they were married), 5540 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made "In Memory of Jan Kessler" to Follow Your Heart Animal Rescue, https://www.followyourheartanimalrescue.org/donate.
