Jerry (Johnny) Russell Sorden passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 1:07 pm surrounded by all his girls, including all grandchildren and sons-in-law.
Johnny was born on February 1, 1949 in Mesa, Arizona, the 10th of 11 children born to Arch and Lena Sorden. He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and attended East High School. At the age of 15 he became a paid musician. Johnny was a very talented musician and loved playing and singing music for a living throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. If he wasn't performing, you would find him at a jam session on Sundays.
At the age of 24 he married Terry Jean Sorden. They had three amazing children; Cindy Bloomfeldt, Stephanie Randall and Jerry (little Johnny) Sorden, Jr. After getting married, he became a circuit board programmer full time and continued playing music most weekends for the next 23 years. Family was his priority. He didn't care what he was doing as long as he was with those he loved. If Johnny wasn't playing/singing music, he and his family were visiting family or friends, playing 31 or cribbage, camping, ATVing, boating/waterskiing, car shows or socializing with neighbors.
Johnny is survived by his wife Terry Sorden and their dogs Princess & Lady; his daughters Cindy Bloomfeldt (Lindsey), Jeanne Dell (Geoffrey), and Stephanie Randall (Shad); his grandchildren Danielle (Nick), Tori (Jake), Rebekah (Cameron), Kortney (Parker), Nicole, Thomas, Nate, Ali, and Broderick; his great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Brinlee, Rogan, Haven, and Ren; brother Leon, and sister Carol (Johnnie).
Johnny is preceded in death by his son Jerry (little Johnny) Sorden; parents Arch & Lena Sorden; siblings Doris, Bobby, Barbra, Larry, Rickey, Kathleen, Allen, and Donald.
Celebration of Life is on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Fountain of the Sun clubhouse, east side.
