Mark Todd Koontz, born on December 3, 1961, in Cambridge, Ohio, left this world on September 29, 2024, in Gilbert, Arizona. He was the beloved son of the late Clyde Koontz and Jean (Winifred) Koontz (Brittingham). Mark is survived by his loving sister Stacy Dusch; cherished nephew Brandon Dusch; adored niece Brittany Dusch; precious great-nephew Conner Dusch; and treasured great-niece Kamdyn Hopkins. He was a 1979 graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School in Jefferson Hills, PA.
Mark dedicated his life to helping others as a respiratory therapist. His compassion and dedication touched countless lives during his career. He had an unwavering love for his family and friends that knew no bounds. Mark's warm smile and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his devotion to those he held dear, Mark had a passion for Pittsburgh sports that brought him joy throughout his life. Whether cheering on the Steelers or Penguins from afar or sharing in the excitement with fellow fans, he found happiness in these moments.
As we mourn the loss of such a remarkable soul taken too soon from us, we find comfort in knowing that Mark is now at peace. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Aviant and Hospice of the Valley for providing exceptional care during his time of need.
In honoring Mark's wishes there will be no formal services held at this time. However, we invite all who loved him to keep his memory alive through acts of kindness and remembrance.
Mark Todd Koontz leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him best. May he rest peacefully knowing how deeply he was cherished by all whose lives he touched.
